Alicia Ottati

PhD, MS, MA

Dr. Alicia Ottati is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 12 years' experience in a variety of clinical settings. She is also retired from the US Air Force. Prior to the military, Dr. Ottati conducted program management for developmentally disabled adults and for residential Alzheimer's facilities. She joined the Air Force in 2001 as a Behavioral Scientist and started her psychology education and training in 2010 at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland where she conducted research in the Cancer Survivorship Lab. Dr. Ottati completed her psychology internship at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. As a military psychologist, she has managed several outpatient mental health and substance abuse clinics, conducted assessments and treatment for active duty service members, and served as a subject matter expert for various military mental health initiatives. After retiring from the military, Dr. Ottati worked with older adults and veterans in long-term care facilities. She now works as a private practice provider specializing in psychotherapy and assessment by video in any of the PSYPACT-participating states. Her areas of specialization include trauma, mood disorders, substance abuse, chronic illness, and end-of-life concerns. Dr. Ottati is an LGBTQ-affirming therapist.


Dr. Ottati conducts assessments for diagnostic clarification, ADHD, mental health disability, and VA disability claims. She uses a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment approach with an emphasis on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She is also trained in the various trauma-focused therapies and additional CBT modalities.
